School Starts August 14th!

First Day of School Information – August 14, 2025

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are excited to welcome your child(ren) back for the 2025–2026 school year at Goodwell Public Schools! Below is important information to help your family prepare for the first day of school:

📅 First Day of School

  • Date: Thursday, August 14, 2025
  • Start Time: 8:00 AM (doors open at 7:40 AM)
  • Dismissal Time: 3:00 PM

🚌 Arrival & Dismissal Procedures

  • Bus riders will be dropped off and picked up at the designated bus loop. If you have any questions about where bus pick up and drop off locations are please contact the transportation director at (580) 349-2271.
  • Car riders should be dropped off at the front entrance. Staff will be present to assist.
  • Students arriving after 8:00 AM must check in at the office.

🎒 What to Bring

  • Backpack
  • School supplies (see supply list on our website)
  • Water bottle
  • Positive attitude!

Kindergarten and Pre-K parents may walk their children to class on the first day.

🍽 Meals

  • Breakfast and lunch will be served daily.
  • Free and Reduced Meal Applications will be available soon.

 

📱 Personal Electronic Device Policy Reminder

All students are required to keep cell phones and personal electronic devices completely out of sight during instructional hours.

  • Devices must be turned off and stored in backpacks, lockers, or designated storage areas.
  • This includes cell phones, smartwatches, earbuds, tablets, and similar devices.
  • Use of personal devices during the school day is prohibited unless directed by a teacher for instructional purposes.

This policy follows Oklahoma Senate Bill 139 and is intended to support a focused, distraction-free learning environment.

🧥 Dress Code

Please ensure your child is dressed appropriately for a school environment. Refer to the Student Handbook for full guidelines.

  • Date: Tuesday, August 12, 2025
  • Time: 6:30 PM
  • A great opportunity to drop off supplies and meet the staff!
